Public utilities and capitalism are economic traditions. The Valentine Constitution combines the two in a capitalist public utility marketplace with a level economic playing field, where supply and demand rule, and government helps Citizens practice their gifts and aptitudes in business and at jobs. A fair and ethical competitive environment will allow the cream to rise to the top. All Citizens will be able to sell their goods and services online without interference from middlemen, gatekeepers and monopolies, and free of charges other than our only tax of 5% on all transactions. Ad-free search with filters will give buyers and sellers direct access to each other. A royalty based system will compensate content creators and allow free 24/7 access to all content paid for out of current usage fees.
Small business provides 85% of our jobs. The health of “our economy” is determined by the health of our small businesses, not by multinational monopolies. When small business are flourishing, the middle class and democracy are flourishing. Giving Citizens free use of the internet they paid to build, The Valentine Constitution’s direct-to-free-market internet economy helps to create the new small businesses and innovative products we will need to compete worldwide in tomorrow’s international marketplace, and to survive in concert with nature.
